Our qualified clinical psychologist and psychological therapist Associates provide a range of therapies and interventions to Black and minority ethnic children, parents and families. All therapy approaches aim to incorporate the cultural perspectives of the child, parent or family. 

 We work with a wide range of social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, including depression, anxiety, attachment difficulties, relationship problems, domestic violence, sexual abuse, school problems, developmental delay, racial and ethnic identity development, trauma, bereavement, behavioural problems, and gender identity. 

We also work with looked after children and safeguarding issues. Referrals can be made by social or children’s services, schools, Local Authority or NHS commissioners, and family justice courts. Please note we cannot accept private referrals from individuals.

Therapy approaches on offer to children and families include:


  • family and systemic therapy

  • brief psychodynamic therapy

  • eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)

  • cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)

  • positive parenting programmes, drawing on a range of evidence-based parenting programmes
