Here she tells us about her day-today-role with Just Psychology.

"I run the Trafford Sunrise Service. Alongside, an Art Psychotherapist, a Lead Assistant Psychologist and three honorary assistants we run four to five groups per term in the community for children and young people between 5-12 and their parents. These groups focus on developing  strengths, building relationships and cultivating a skill set to manage emotions. We also offer culturally-aware, individualised, person-centred therapeutic work with children, young people and their families. We utilise different approaches depending on the needs of the family: CBT, compassion focussed CBT, ACT, narrative therapy.

"I love the commitment of Just Psychology to social justice, the principles of our service and a continuing conversation about how they can be practiced. I enjoy the focus on working with BME communities in a culturally competent manner and sharing this knowledge. There is a dedication to service development based on an evidence based approach to therapy but also on the feedback of the families we work with.

"As with all mental health services, it is a challenge to have a waiting list and explore with families what can help while they wait when we all wish they did not have to wait at all for any service.

"The Just Psychology team is friendly, warm, dedicated and passionate about what they do. The team is very supportive of each other and as a team member you are actively encouraged to develop your skill."
